About Me

Stuart Fryer is a multi award winning Writer / Director.

He began directing promos for the likes of Oasis, Eminem and Robbie Williams before turning his hand to be a pioneer of the viral film. His VW viral spoof gained worldwide infamy and enabled him to forge a path in the emerging online content world. He has been a panel member at both film and advertising festivals around the world in including Cannes and has been interviewed on BBC TV and BBC Radio 4 on various occasions.

Stuart’s writing enabled him to make waves in the Corporate / Industrial world, both writing and directing award winning films for clients such as the National Crime Agency (the UK’s FBI) about the effects of CyberCrime on young people, the UK’s Campaign To End Loneliness, and for pharmaceutical company Roche, making a film about their cancer hospital in Basel, Switzerland.

Stuart Fryer’s writing skills have given him the opportunity to ghost write commercial scripts and treatments for some of Hollywood’s biggest Directors.

His narrative film work has won awards around the world, ‘Ups & Downs’ about the rivalry between two brothers fighting for the attention of their mother, one who has Downs Syndrome, was selected for the Emerging Filmmakers Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival. His Downs Syndrome actor, Otto Baxter won best actor at the Cannes Disability Film Awards.

Stuart’s horror film ‘Bad Dreams’, about the effects of child abuse has won many awards globally.

Stuart has in development two TV series he has written the pilots for.

Firstly ‘Welcome to Gunchester’ tells the story of real life gangs who terrified Manchester and their battle for supremacy in the 1980’s and 90’s, coining the unwanted tabloid epithet GUNCHESTER. This is currently in negotiation with both the BBC and Director Danny Boyle.

He also has ‘Algorithm Angels’ in development which he hopes will go into production next year.
